Elgin: Hospital appoints VP of strategy, operations

Laurence Dry, vice president of support and ambulatory services, has been promoted to vice president of strategy and operations for Provena Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin, announced Eugene J. McMahon, hospital president and CEO. Dry joined Provena Saint Joseph Hospital in 2006 as the vice president of operations, with responsibilities for facilities and ancillary departments. Prior to that, he spent nine years at the University of Chicago Medical Center in various roles in hospital operations. Dry also served as a health policy analyst at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In addition to his current responsibilities — facilities, physician practice management, off-site clinics, imaging services, cardiopulmonary, laboratory services, and oncology services — in his new role he will assume responsibility for business development. Dry earned a bachelor of arts degree in history from Emory University and a master of science in health policy and administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
