CMA nominations in five categories announced

The nominees in five CMA Awards categories were announced this morning on Good Morning America.
Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan read out the names. Lady Antebellum was supposed to be on hand for the announcement, but the group was delayed by bad weather. Here’s what they revealed:
Female vocalist of the year: Kelly Clarkson, Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, Martina McBride and Carrie Underwood
Vocal group of the year: Eli Young Band, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, The Band Perry, Zac Brown Band
Male vocalist of the year: Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Blake Shelton (“Mr. Lambert” they said), Keith Urban
Entertainer of the year: Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley
Album of the year: Eric Church, Chief; Miranda Lambert, Four the Record; Dierks Bentley, Home; Lady Antebellum, Own the Night; Luke Bryan, Tailgates and Tanlines
“It’s just been an amazing year,” said Bryan after the announcement, happy to be among the nominees.
Eric Church tops the list of final nominees with five. The reigning CMA Female and Male Vocalist of the Year husband-and-wife Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton each received four nominations. Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney, Little Big Town and Taylor Swift each received three nominations.
Following the announcement, Aldean and Bryan were slated to head over to B.B. King Blues Club and Grill to announce the finalists in the remaining seven categories.
Hosted for the fifth time by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, The 46th Annual CMA Awards will air live on Nov. 1 (8-11 p.m. ET) from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on ABC. — Gannett News
