The Lover: Soul Theatre returns to the Chicago theatre scene with a three-week engagement of Harold Pinter’s comedic one-act, “The Lover.” In Pinter’s comedic drama, a married couple tries to spice up their relationship by pretending to have an affair. But the worlds of fantasy and reality quickly collide and their erotic role-playing game spirals out of control. Thursdays through Sundays, June 28 through July 15 at A Red Orchid Theatre, 1531 N. Ansel Adams Photography Exhibit: Bert Green Fine Art, 8 S. Michigan Ave., Suite 1220, exhibits rarely seen photographs that reveal the lost landscape + lifestyle of a prewar Los Angeles. These nostalgic images from the archives of The L.A. Public Library Ansel Adams Collection represent Adams as a photojournalist on assignment for Fortune Magazine in 1940. Three Sisters: Steppenwolf Theatre Company closes the 2011/12 season with Anton Chekhov’s humorous and affecting tale of longing for a better life. In Three Sisters, the Prozorov family chafes at the constraints of life in their small provincial town, once a bustling army garrison where their late father served as general. Attempts to shore up their crumbling social status lay bare the larger forces of unrest that will soon engulf them all. Three Sisters begins previews June 28, opening night is July 8 and runs through Aug. 26 in Steppenwolf’s Downstairs Theatre, 1650 N. Halsted St. Tix $20 to $75 at Audience Services, 1650 N. Latinos in Music Film Program: ‘Hasta el Último Trago Corazón’ (Until the last drink, my dear), a documentary from 2005, is presented by the Puerto Rican Arts Alliance (PRAA) from 7:30 to 10 p.m. June 23 at Dvorak Park in Pilsen, 1119 W. Cullerton St. Special guest director Beto Gomez will chat about the film. The films are in Spanish with English subtitles and will be screened outdoors with free admission, pop corn and raffles.
