Friday, June 29

Navistar Main Stage

4 to 5:45 p.m.: Junkyard Groove

Sounds: Rock, funk, blues, country covers

6:15 to 7:45 p.m.: ARRA

Sounds: Classic rock covers

8:15 to 10 p.m.: The Steve Miller Band

Who: Milwaukee native who cut his chops in his 20s playing blues in Chicago. Later part of the San Francisco scene of the 1960s and mainstay of ’70s rock.

Sounds: Blues, psychedelic, progressive rock.

Know ’em, love ’em: “Take the Money and Run,” “Fly Like an Eagle,” “Jungle Love.”

What’s New: Released “Bingo!” in 2010, primarily covers of blues and R&B hits.

Says Them: “Whether Miller is a space cowboy, a gangster of love, or even Maurice, the classic rocker proved he still has the goods to put on an almost perfect summer concert.” — Lorilee Cracker, music critic, Grand Rapids Gazette.

Saturday, June 30

8 to 10 p.m.: Joe Walsh

Who: Member of the James Gang, Eagles. Successful solo artist.

Sounds: Hard rock, country rock guitarist.

Know ’em, Love ’em: “Rocky Mountain Way,” “Life’s Been Good,” “Walk Away.”

What’s New: His first new album in 20 years, Analog Man.

Who: Formed in 1969 in Houston, Texas, by guitarist and vocalist Billy Gibbons, bassist and vocalist Dusty Hill and drummer Frank Beard.

Sounds: Originally boogie and blues-based rock but later added New Wave, punk and hard rock.

Know ’em, Love ’em: “Gimme All Your Lovin,” “Sharp Dressed Man,” “Legs.”

What’s New: Texicali, a four track digital collection that includes “I Got to Get Paid” which appears in a commercial for Jeremiah Weed bourbon and malt beverages.

Says Them: Gibbons: “We put this band together with nothing in mind but getting out there and playin.’ We have to keep it on the move. We don’t know anything else.” (St. Augustine Record)
