Here is a look at events at the DuPage Children’s Museum in Naperville.
The DuPage Children’s Museum is at 301 N. Washington St., Naperville. Parking is free. Wheelchair accessible. For hours, admission and membership packages, visit dupagechildrensmuseum.org or call (630) 637-8000. Tiny Great Performances, Family Fun Friday Nights and other events listed are free for Museum members and/or with Museum admission, and no registration is required. Creativity Classes require pre-registration and separate fees.

6 p.m.: Anima Young Singers of Greater Chicago
Listen to a selection of songs from the singers’ repertoire.
May 20
2 p.m.: Chicago Opera Play House Presents Cinderhood
Discover kid-friendly opera based on the classic stories of Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood. Audience interaction holds children’s attention in this introduction to opera. Free with admission or membership. Limited seating.
May 21–27
Print Making Studio Drop-in
Make a monoprint by painting on plastic and covering it with paper. Try different techniques to change your prints in this math-focused discovery activity.

4-5 p.m.: Little Cloud by Eric Carle, A Start in Literacy Series Class

Add artistic touches and three-dimensional decorations to enormous constructions that fill the studio in this math-focused discovery activity.

9:30-10:15 a.m.: Butterflies, A Start in Math Series Class
Paint and collage your own mathematically symmetrical wings while investigating the beauty, color, form and size of butterflies. Registration required. Ages 2-3. Member/Child $15, Nonmember/Child $21.

3-4:30 p.m.: Intense Color Mixing, An Art Skills Development Class
Master color mixing to create bright, intense colors and duller, more muted shades that will allow you to paint more complex artworks. Registration required. Ages 7-10. Member $20, Nonmember $25.

Butterflies Studio Drop-In
Paint symmetrical butterflies while keeping an eye on the Museum’s Butterfly Garden provided by the Naperville Garden Club in this science-focused discovery activity.

9:30-10 a.m.: Paint with Color, A My First Mess Series Class
Take your first steps into self-expression as you paint the colors of the rainbow with brushes and your hands. Registration required. Ages 18-24 months. Member/Child $12, Nonmember/Child $18.

9:30-10:15 a.m.: The Shape of a Train, A Start in Math

Electricity is all around us, powering many of the things we need and use to make life easier. In DCM’s newest exhibit, AWEsome Electricity, children will build foundations for future learning as they discover what currents, loads and power sources are and what they do.

Monet Studio Drop-In
Plant your artistic flower in the Summer Studio and help create a growing mural that would rival the paintings of Claude Monet in this art-focused discovery activity.

3-4 p.m.: Cast a Fossil, A Start in Science
Explore how stone copies of prehistoric animals and plants are formed. Cast a fossil-like form to create your own image of prehistoric times. Registration required. Ages 4-6. Member/Child $15, Nonmember/Child $21.

Third Thursdays are a special time once a month for families of children with autism spectrum disorder, visual, and mobility impairments to come play at the Museum.

11 a.m.-5 p.m.: DCM’s Biggest, Best Birthday Bash!
DuPage Children’s Museum is turning 25 and kicking off a year-long celebration. Families will enjoy a day of playing in the Museum, dancing to music and exploring some special extras in the DCM parking lot. Admission is $2.50 for members and $5 for nonmembers. 11 a.m.-Noon will be members-only.

Draw for a Cause Studio Drop-In
Draw a poster to help the Naperville Humane Society tell people about their wonderful animals in this art-focused discovery activity.
