Updated: January 28, 2014 6:28AM

Federal workplace safety officials are investigating the death of an employee of an East Dundee-based snow removal company after she reportedly fell from a work truck and died Sunday in west suburban Oak Brook.

Stephanie L. Siers, 19, of Carpentersville, was found lying unconscious in the roadway near 22nd Street and Clearwater Drive about 1 p.m. Sunday, Oak Brook police said in a release.

Siers was taken to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst, where she later died, according to police.

Investigators determined that she was injured when she fell from a work truck onto the roadway, police said.

Siers worked for Tovar Snow Professionals, an East Dundee business that was assisting with snow and ice removal at a nearby business, according to police.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident, according to spokesman Scott Allen.

The company could not be reached for comment Thursday afternoon.

The DuPage County Coroner’s Office is handling the case, which remains under investigation, a spokeswoman said.
