HANOVER PARK — A Hanover Park man was being held on a $250,000 bond after being charged with posting an online ad for sex with a person of any age, according to prosecutors.
Andrew Kozar, 27, faces a Class X felony charge of indecent solicitation of a child after he unknowingly admitted to police he was interested in having sex with an 8-year-old girl, according to a statement from the Cook County Sheriff’s office.
Kozar allegedly placed an advertisement on Craigslist on Nov. 26 offering to have sex with any female family member of a respondent’s family, while the respondent watched, according to a statement from the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office.
Police responded to the ad, posing as a step-father, and over the course of a week Kozar and police exchanged more than 75 emails and text messages regarding Kozar’s intended sex acts with the “step-father’s” 8-year-old daughter, prosecutors said.
Kozar was arrested on Dec. 3 in west suburban Forest Park, where he agreed to meet officers posing as the step-father, according to prosecutors.
Judge Stanley Hill ordered Kozar held on $250,000 bond Friday at the Maywood Court House, prosecutors said. He is next scheduled to appear in court Dec. 26.
