Carpentersville man faces gun, DUI charges

Gun, DUI charges: Jacob A. Haydock, 21, of the 1500 block of Amarillo Drive, Carpentersville, was charged with a Class 4 felony count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence, and open container. According to police, Haydock had a loaded, uncased .22-caliber handgun in his vehicle at the time of the DUI arrest. Bail was set at $5,000, and he was given an Oct. 23 court date.
Controlled substance arrest: Amanda J. Smith, 26, of the 1500 block of Southgate Road, Bartlett, was charged with a Class 4 felony count of possession of a controlled substance following her arrest Wednesday. According to police, Smith was the passenger in a vehicle whose driver was charged with driving under the influence and, upon search of the vehicle, she was found with nine Alprazolam (Xanax) tablets for which she did not have a prescription. Bail was set at $5,000, and she was given an Oct. 24 court date.
Heroin, syringe charges: Ethan RH Hartwell, 18, of the 1700 block of Newbridge Circle, Elgin, was charged with a Class 4 felony count of possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor count of possession of a hypodermic needle following his arrest Wednesday. According to police, Hartwell was found with less than 15 grams of heroin and the needle. Bail was set at $15,000, and he was given an Oct. 25 court date.
