Police Blotter: Elgin man spat at and pushed EMTs

Jeremy P. Slania, 39, of the 1000 block of Lakewood Road, Elgin, was charged with a Class 3 felony count of aggravated battery to an emergency medical technician, accused of spitting on an EMT, and a misdemeanor charge of battery, accused of shoving another EMT during an incident Sunday in Elgin.

Bail was set at $30,000, and he was given a June 27 court date.

Javier G. Hernandez, 54, of the 200 block of North Clifton Avenue, Elgin, was charged with a Class 3 felony count of violating bail bond, accused of returning to an address he had been banned from following an arrest earlier Sunday. Bail was set at $25,000, and he was given a July 7 court date.
