Crime Briefs: Man accused of assaulting pregnant woman

Tecumseh A. Henry III, 31, of the 200 block of Gifford Place, Elgin, was charged with a class 3 felony count of aggravated battery to a pregnant victim as well as four misdemeanor counts of domestic battery, following an incident Monday. He is accused of placing his hands around the pregnant victim’s throat and throwing a 15-year-old victim against a wall, causing a contusion on the teen’s forehead. Bail was set at $75,000, and he was give a June 25 court date.

Lily Lake

Two teens were hurt when a motorcycle and an ATV crashed in western Kane County Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. Three boys in their mid-teens were riding off-road vehicles in the 45W700 block of Read Road near Lily Lake, Kane County Sheriff’s Lt. Chris Collins said. One of the teens was on a motorcycle that stopped suddenly. He was struck from behind by an ATV driven by another teen. Both suffered head injuries, and the ATV came to rest on one of the boys, police said. Both were airlifted to hospitals. The third teen was not involved in the crash, but stopped to help, Collins said.

Crystal Lake

A Crystal Lake man has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child, according to a release from the McHenry County Sheriff’s office. Chad J. Connell, 41, was arrested after an investigation into the alleged sexual abuse of a child under 13 years old. Connell is being held in the McHenry County Correctional Facility in lieu of a $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court July 8.
