Elgin man gets 10-year term for sexual assault against child

Patrick A. Cook, 27 (d.o.b. 10-3-1985), of Elgin, was sentenced 4/4/13 by Circuit Judge Susan Clancy Boles to 10 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

An Elgin man has been sentenced to prison for having sexual contact with a young child, the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office said.
Patrick A. Cook, 27 was sentenced Thursday by Circuit Judge Susan Clancy Boles to 10 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Cook pleaded guilty Feb. 23 to one count of predatory criminal sexual assault, a Class X felony.
Between Aug. 1, 2008, and Dec. 3, 2009, Cook had sexual contact with a child he knew. The child was younger than 13 at the time of the contact.
The contact took place at Cook’s residence and in Cook’s car.
According to Illinois law, Cook must serve at least 85 percent of the sentence. He was given credit for at least 50 days served in the Kane County jail.
The case was investigated by the Kane County Child Advocacy Center and prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorney Nydia Molina.
