HUNTLEY — Two new eateries are opening in Huntley.
The village board Thursday night discussed a new Class A liquor license for the upcoming opening of Rookies 3 to be located at 12220 Princeton Drive in the village. The establishment is owned by Triple K and B Inc. and will be operated by Bob Karas.
Karas said the establishment will be open for business by April.
The second new business is Starbucks, which opened this week at 12210 Princeton Drive. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Thursday, with the opening of the business on Friday. The hours of operation are 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
In other business, the board discussed the purchase of two new vehicles to add to the public works fleet. The first is a 2013 Ford F250 pickup with snowplow and lift gate for $32,030 and will be purchased through the state bid program for municipalities.
The second vehicle is a 2013 Ford F550 1.5-ton dump truck cab and chassis for $39,985. The board plans to waive the formal bidding process for the purchase of the dump-truck body, snowplow and salt spreader package from Bonnell Industries Inc. for $54,934.
All of these items were budgeted and are set to be approved at the next board meeting.
