Employee theft report at store

A Carpentersville resident was arrested last week regarding a retail theft involving an employee at The Buckle, 1390 Springhill Mall Drive, West Dundee police said. Gibram Joya, 20, of the 2000 block of Tepee Avenue, was charged Nov. 13 with felony and misdemeanor retail theft and obstructing ID, police said. Joya was released after posting 10 percent of $15,000 bond and is to appear in court Dec. 12.

Order violation: An Elgin man was arrested last week after police were dispatched to a Strom Drive apartment regarding an “unwanted subject,” police said. Sidney Spates, 33, of the 1000 block of Radcliff Drive, was charged Nov. 11 with violation of an order of protection. Bond was set at $20,000, and he is to appear in court Wednesday.


Vehicle burglaries: Two similar vehicle burglaries were reported in the parking lot of a business in the 10400 block of Algonquin Road, on Nov. 7 and Nov. 9, according to reports released this past week. In both cases, someone shattered a window on the car and stole a purse that had been left inside, police said.

Arrested twice: According to Huntley police reports released this past week, Brandon R. Brockmeyer, 29, of the 11800 block of Woodcreek Drive was charged on Nov. 6 with two counts of unlawful consumption of an intoxicating compound. He was released on bond pending a hearing. Two days later, police reported, he was arrested again, charged with criminal trespass to land plus inhaling an intoxicating compound. This time he gave a home address on Allen Road in unincorporated Hampshire, police said. He was released on bond again pending a Dec. 14 Kane County hearing.

Park vandalized: Vandals damaged a restroom and an electric meter in Weiss Park on Nov. 9, police reported this past week.
