ELGIN — Bail was set at $3 million Thursday for a Missouri man charged with multiple counts of aggravated sexual assault following a rape police said occurred at an Elgin motel on Route 25.
Police said they were called to the Lexington Motel at 12:20 p.m. Tuesday. A woman there told police she’d been pulled into a stairwell and up to a second-floor room by Mudy A. The assault, police said, lasted four minutes.
The victim told police she had seen her attacker before as he worked with a friend of hers. Munez-Salgado told police he had seen the woman before but had not had contact with her for six months, and that he was looking to have sex when the assault occurred.

His next court appearance is set for Nov. 29.
