A 44-year-old Hanover Park man was killed after he was struck by a vehicle on the Elgin-O’Hare Expressway late Monday.

Dhirajial Tejala Ratanpara, 42, was pronounced dead at 1:37 a.m. Tuesday at Alexian Brother Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, the Cook County Medical Examiners office said.

Ratanpara, of the 1400 block of Sutter Drive, was eastbound when he was involved in a fender-bender collision near Gary Ave. about 10:40 p.m., authorities said.

He got out his vehicle on the expressway and was struck by a vehicle, state police said. Charges have not yet been filed against the motorist who struck Ratanpara, pending the outcome of a police investigation.
