A wake is planned Monday for a 7-year-old Naperville boy who prosecutors said begged his mother for his life before she slashed and stabbed him to death in a townhouse Tuesday.
Justin Plackowska’s wake will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 2220 Lisson Road in Naperville, according to his elementary school’s website. His funeral is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the same church.
His mother, Elzbieta Plackowska, is charged with his first-degree murder and that of 5-year-old Olivia Dworakowski, a friend’s daughter she was babysitting. Olivia’s funeral arrangements are being handled by Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles, but the services are private and times aren’t being released.
Police found Justin and Olivia’s bodies in the Quin Court townhouse of Olivia’s mother, Marta Dworakowski, after Dworakowski called them saying she couldn’t get in or find Plackowska — even though Plackowska was supposed to be there caring for the children.
Plackowska later told police she was angry her husband, a trucker, was spending too much time working and didn’t appreciate her efforts as a wife and mother. She said she killed Olivia because the little girl witnessed Justin’s murder, prosecutors said.
Artur Plackowski, Justin’s father and Elzbieta’s husband, has said his wife told him she loved him the day before the slayings.
