Four injured in St. Charles crash

Accident with injuries: Alcohol is believed to factor in an accident Sunday morning on Route 31 just north of Wildrose Springs Drive, officials said. St. Charles Police and Fire Departments were called to the crash just before 11 a.m. According to officials, Luis

Pina, 417 New York Street, Aurora, was driving south bound on Rt. 31 and lost control of his Pontiac Grand Am and went into oncoming traffic. His vehicle collided with a northbound Chevy Tahoe driven by Manuel Nunez, 717 W.Old Indian Trail, Aurora. That vehicle had two passengers. Pina was extricated from his vehicle and transported to Delnor Hospital. Nunez and his passengers were also transported to Delnor Hospital.

Alcohol and faulty equipment are suspected as contributing causes to Pina losing control of his vehicle. police said .The roadway reopened at 2:15 p.m. and the accident remains under investigation.
