Three Woodstock-area residents were arrested on weapons and drug charges following an investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department and police from Carpentersville, Huntley and Lake in the Hills.
According to a press release from Sheriff Keith Nygren, the suspects were arrested Thursday when members of the sheriff’s office SWAT Team, Intelligence Led Policing Unit, K-9 Unit, and Narcotics Unit conducted a search warrant at their home at 9917 McConnell Road.
McHenry County Animal Control removed two pit bulls from the residence.
Recovered were a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol, .25-caliber semi-automatic pistol, .38-caliber revolver, .22-caliber revolver, numerous rounds of ammunition, digital scale, multiple items of drug paraphernalia, and 3.5 grams of cannabis, Nygren said.
Arrested were Lee Modesto Cruz, 27, on three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, two counts of unlawful possession of firearm ammunition by a felon, possession of certain dogs by a felon and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia; Kevin M. Riley, 31, on two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, unlawful possession of firearm ammunition, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and cannabis and a parole violation warrant; and Colleen M. Loud, 22, on unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
